Some more about me
Before becoming a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked for many years managing supported housing projects. My primary motivation has always been to help and support people, but I felt that I was moving further away from this, as I progressed to more senior roles.
After deciding to retrain, I first completed the Diploma in Person-centred Counselling (Dip HE), gaining a Distinction, going on to complete the BA (hons) at Southampton City College (Middlesex University).
I have lots of experience gained from working for a bereavement charity, a low cost counselling service, a young persons service, and currently working for a charity working with trauma.
I am interested in attachment and trauma and recently completed a Diploma in Attachment with Distinction. I have also completed a Diploma in Mental Health First Aid.
I enjoy the outdoors, particularly walking my dog and wildlife photography. I believe in the healing power of nature and that's why I offer walk and talk therapy. This can be relaxing for some clients and being in nature can also give a problem a new perspective.
My other interests are interiors and art. Being creative helps me to relax and unwind and provides a contemplative space to think.
